Further Information
Development of Caracoli Gail and Chris love to travel and have done so extensively. Part of their enjoyment of travelling is sampling the local produce and seeing the variety of products on offer and the way in which they are presented throughout the world. They have stumbled across all sorts of eateries from the well renowned Richmond Hill Café and Larder in Melbourne to Melissa's in Cape Town. The places that have stuck with them are those that offer something different, something fresh and a little 'je ne sais quoi'. So, inspired by what they've seen on their travels and combining Gail's culinary experience and Chris' love of wines they set about planting the seed that has now become Caracoli. Gail has worked in catering most of her life and has seen the good, the not so good and the bad! Fresh and local produce will be a big part of Caracoli, but we also want to import some of the wonderful products we have seen around the world e.g. olive oil from Martinborough in New Zealand, roasted macadamias from Australia, wines from South Africa. We want people to feel that when they come to Caracoli it is more than just an eating experience it is an outing for all the senses! |
