Excellent coffee is at the core of our business. After all ‘Caracoli’ means a coffee bean which develops singly inside the coffee cherry, which normally contains two. Caracoli beans occur in all regions of the world, on all types of coffee bush. Since flavour is concentrated when only a single bean is grown inside the cherry, Caracoli beans are highly prized....

 

So many variables go into the making of a good cup of coffee and we pay attention to them all:

 

Beans – our blend is made using 70% pure Arabica beans from Fazenda Fortaleza, the farm run by Alexandre Nogueira in Brazil. These are mixed with 30% Costa Rican beans from COOP Naranjo. These ethically sourced beans give Caracoli our very own House Blend.

 

Machines – argued by most experts to be the Rolls Royce of coffee machines, La Marzocco Italian coffee machines are used in all our stores; coupled with Mazzer Grinders which are up there with the best for producing a consistent grind.

 

Coffee names –Espresso, Macchiato, Flat White, Stumpy, Cappuccino, Latte, Mocha, Americano. We serve all our coffees with two shots of espresso as standard – distinguishing us from many other coffee houses who only use one. The espresso comes from 14mg of our ground House Blend.

 

Baristas –A true profession and one which takes a great deal of commitment and diligence to master. A good Barista will possess a true understanding of what is required to make an exceptional coffee every time. At Caracoli we have an in-house training program to take all trainees through the vital steps. We couple this with training from our coffee supplier, Darlingtons with whom we work closely.
